Dan Rhodes has to solve the murder of Graf Bilson, who was knocked on the head
and burned up in his farm house by arson.
There
are many incidents along the way, including where Bilson’s wife shot up the
fireworks stand where Bilson’s mistress worked, and set the place on fire.
It
turns out that James Allen and Ralph Oliver murdered the man and another
because they used county workmen and county materials for their own personal
properties instead of for the county use.
